This Davao based band is so far-out. They don't want commercialism among bands. In fact, in their recent gig at Vista Grande Garden, Skyline, Davao City, only the certified underground socialists were allowed to go inside. Bullocks and nerds were kicked back to their mom's lap. If you were the kind of person that buys records only after hearing it on the radio, you are out of their list. Their repertoire of songs are often neverheard and only people with "martian hearts" , as they coined it, could relate to it. They don't need money for their music. All they want is a patient ear. "Independent", they screamed. Thanks to this davao band for not joining the dreaded Manila scene. Davao people are puking over the claim that Manila is the only place where you could find something to put in between your ears. BRAIN DAMAGE!!! They stomped on Davao saying it is only a province. If that's the case, Davao City, Malaysia sounds better to us. Anyways, 13th Floor Elevators can be heard at the NU 107 stations (Davao and Cebu). Their first single called "...and then there's a single" was a certified sold out among underground societies. Released early 1997, it featured the boombox version of the legendary Martians Go Home Music. Now, their follow-up EP Bloodstream of the Planet is selling like ice. New songs in this EP: Dextrose Statics, Impervious But Dulcet, Downer, Endorphins, The Invisible Sound Of Alcohol, and the studio version of Martians Go Home Music. Get your copies now. This EP is as rare as a diamond. Limited copies.
